SELEUKID KINGS. Demetrios II Nikator, first reign, 146-138 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 36 mm, 15.87 g, 12 h), Antiochia on the Orontes, unceratin date, circa 146-144. Diademed head of Demetrios II to right, all within laurel wreath. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY - ΘEOY ΦIΛAΔEΛΦOY NIKATOPOΣ Apollo seated left on omphalos, testing arrow held in right hand and resting left on bow; uncertain controls. HGC 9, 957d. SC 1907.1h. Nicely toned, struck on an exceptionally broad flan and with a fine pedigree. Scratches and some delamination, otherwise, very fine.
